I am the Director of the Centre for Philosophy of the Sciences and an Associate Professor in the School of Philosophy at the Research School of Social Sciences at the Australian National University. 

I am a philosopher of biology with a particular interest in the evolution of cognition and behaviour, the role of development in evolution, and the methodologies of the life sciences. I love collaborating with other scholars, and have worked with philosophers, evolutionary biologists, psychologists, archaeologists, and comparative psychologists. ​I am also Editor-in-Chief of Biology & Philosophy,  the Chair of the National Committee for History and Philosophy of Science at the Australian Academy of Science, and on the Editorial Board of Acta Biotheoretica. ​
